Jordan S. Ruboy, AA ’49, BS ’50, a well-loved Massachusetts pediatrician, passed away on July 20, 2013 at the age of 85.
Dr. Ruboy was born in Taunton, MA and was an only child. After graduating at the Valley Forge Military Academy, he came to GW, completeing an AA and a BS. He then received his masters from Boston University and graduated from Boston University’s Medical School in 1955.
After medical school, he served from 1956 to 1958 as captain in the United Stated Marine Corps. Following his service, he interned at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital in the pediatrics departments. He was a staff member at Massachusetts General Hospital for fifty years and later became the Chief of Pediatrics at Emerson Hospital. Dr. Ruboy also had a private practice at Concord Hill Pediatrics.
Dr. Ruboy was a member of the board of directors of the Boston Center for Adult Education, the Boston Lyric Opera and a member of the Avisory Committee of the Department of Musical Instruments of the Museum of Fine Arts. He is survived by his life partner and spouse, Richard S. Milstein, Esq. as well as by many cousins.
